What's Happenin'

After trying to avoid my true passion (again) for the last couple of
years, I've re-discovered that all I really care about is writing.  Not
attaching myself to a man or anyone else and their dream, just living my
own dream - have a job, pay the bills, and write all I possibly can.
Since I skipped the college scene, I've had these past 6 years to bounce
around my own ideas about what life I'm building. I've realized only one
thing about myself - I change my mind a LOT.  I've lived in 19 places in
my life, and only one city.  I've gone through a lot of phases and
experiences and relationships, and only one job (what???).  My current
plan - moving to Europe.  I start school winter quarter - just enough to
qualify as a student for some work visa's - then it's away I go (in
March).  It looks like Ireland, then Scotland, then back around to New
Zealand and Australia.  At the end of my travels I might have found a
new home, or I might return to this fabulous city of mine once again,
who knows.  In the meantime, you can catch me all around the city on my
bicycle, playing bike polo or other crazy things with the messengers, or
sitting up late late at night in a diner, coffee shop, or bar, with a
pad of paper, a cup of something, and probably a friend or two.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely
in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside,
thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, "WOW, What
a Ride!

I'd rather be forgotten than remembered for giving in.
