After graduating HNA, Janessa attended Seattle University where she focused on structural engineering. She graduated in June of 2002, receiving a B.S. in Civil Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. Immediately following graduation, she took up work full time as a design engineer at KPG, an engineering and architectural firm in Seattle.
